UPDATE (DEC. 27): Despite concerns about his shoulder injury, Hurts plans to try to play against the Saints on Week 17.
Hurts’ condition is considered day-to-day, but his drive to compete and desire to play might convince Philadelphia Eagles to give him the go-ahead.
Hurts (shoulder), who is expected to miss Saturday’s game against the Cowboys, is questionable for the Eagles’ Week 17 game against the Saints, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Eagles will wait to see how the NFC playoff picture shakes out this weekend, as well as how Hurts’ shoulder responds to rest and treatment, before deciding on his Week 17 status.
The MVP candidate is nursing a sprained joint in his throwing shoulder.
More information on his status will be available after the weekend’s games, but Gardner Minshew would be in line for another start at quarterback if Hurts is forced to miss another week.
