Tuesday’s game pits the Memphis Grizzlies against the Portland Trail Blazers. After a long absence, will Ja Morant finally make it to this game? Let’s keep going until we find out the outcome.
The latest Injury Report for the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The Grizzlies Report
In the last few days of the regular season, the Memphis Grizzlies have no chance of catching up to the first-place Denver Nuggets.
The most important thing for the Grizzlies to do is get the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. When they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, they can get closer to that goal.
With four games left, Memphis is two games ahead of the third-place Sacramento Kings (49-29).
When the Grizzlies lost to the host Chicago Bulls 128-107 on Sunday, they fell three games behind the Nuggets.
Memphis was up by as many as 23 points, but when the Bulls stepped up their game in the second half, Memphis was blown out 75–39.
In the first half, the Grizzlies were in charge. They made 13 of 25 3-point shots and turned the ball over twice. In the second half, Memphis made only 6 of 18 long-range shots and turned the ball over 16 times.
The Grizzlies had won 10 of their previous 11 games. This was their second loss in three games.
Jaren Jackson Jr., a big man for the Grizzlies, scored 31 points and made a season-high five 3-pointers against the Bulls. It was the third time in the last eight games that he scored 30 points.
Desmond Bane got 21 points, which was the sixth time in a row that he got 20 points.
Ja Morant scored 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and passed the ball 10 times, giving him his seventh triple-double of the season. He still has a ticket for this game against the Blazers, of course.
Memphis’s last game at home during the regular season is against Portland. In their first two games against each other this season, the road team won both times.
Brooks might not be able to play against the Trail Blazers on Tuesday because his right hip is hurting.
Brooks has scored 10 or more points in four straight games. In that time, he has averaged 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in 31.0 minutes.
If the Oregon native can’t play, players like John Konchar, David Roddy, and Luke Kennard could get more playing time on Tuesday.
Now, let’s look at the Grizzlies’ list of people who are hurt for Tuesday’s game.
- Dillon Brooks (Hip): Game Time Decision
- Ziaire Williams (Foot): Expected to be out until at least Apr 5
- Steven Adams (Knee): Expected to be out until at least Apr 15
- Brandon Clarke (Achilles): Out for the season

The Blazers Report
The Trail Blazers (33-45) are playing out the string in a bad season, but they did beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-105 on the road on Sunday.
The win was especially impressive because Portland is still missing four starters, including star player Damian Lillard, and has only added three players in less than a week to make up for it.
Skylar Mays, a guard who just joined the team, scored 13 points and gave out nine assists in his second game.
While guards Lillard (calf) and Anfernee Simons (foot) are out, rookie Shaedon Sharpe keeps showing what a great scorer he is.
Sharpe made the top 20 for the sixth time in the last seven games by scoring 27 points. During this stretch, he is averaging 24.7 points per game.
Sharpe had a good game all around, with six rebounds and six assists.
The other two injured Portland starters are forward Jerami Grant (quadriceps) and center Jusuf Nurkic (knee). Guard Keon Johnson, who broke his finger, and forward Cam Reddish are also out for the Trail Blazers (back).
