Is There Controller Support for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide?
The answer is yes, Darktide is compatible with controllers. You only need to connect your controller to your PC the way you normally do to start playing right away. Although you can use a controller to play, there are a few restrictions you should take into account as of this writing. Nothing the team can’t fix, but issues that will almost certainly be present when the game launches.
The first is being unable to change controller keybindings. While the Keybindings menu lists all of the keyboard keybindings, the controller options are oddly absent. This means you’ll have to stick with whatever controller options are set as default. The other major issue is the possibility of keybinding switches between matches. A few users have reported that the buttons for performing specific actions change between missions, though this is a fairly uncommon occurrence. Still, it’s something to think about.
So, the conclusion is that, you can play with your controller. Of course, you’ll have to give up a few things, but having that joystick over a mouse sometimes just feels better. That’s fine, even if the majority of people disagree.
