Is Joel Embiid, Donovan Mitchell ready on Wednesday? Injury Reports Cavaliers – 76ers

Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a matchup of two Eastern Conference powerhouses. This game will begin at 7:30 p.m. EST at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Updates Cavaliers vs. 76ers injuries: 2 Questionable, 1 Out

The Cavaliers have a 38-22 record, while the Sixers sit at 37-19. In a home game in November, the Cavaliers defeated the Sixers by a score of 113-85.

The 37–19 record of the Philadelphia 76ers is good enough for third in the Eastern Conference. They’re 3.5 games back from the leading Celtics and only a game ahead of the second-place Cavaliers. The Sixers bounced back nicely from last week’s setbacks by winning three games in a row over the weekend.

On Monday, despite James Harden’s 28 points and 10 assists, the 76ers easily defeated the Rockets, 123-104, in Philadelphia. Besides Joel Embiid’s 23 points, Tyrese Maxey’s 26 off the bench helped the team in several ways.

Following a brief scoring dry spell, Maxey has returned to form and has been a force on offense and defense from the opening tip.

  • Joel Embiid – Doubt vs. Cavs

Joel Embiid’s status for Wednesday’s game against the Cavaliers is in question due to a foot injury.

While Embiid’s left foot continues to bother him, he has played in 10 consecutive games, averaging 31.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.5 steals in 35.0 minutes.

By resting him for the 76ers’ final game before the All-Star break, Paul Reed, Montrezl Harrell, and the recently acquired Dewayne Dedmon may see increased playing time.

76ers injuries: Furkan Korkmaz (Personal), Joel Embiid (Foot) and P.J. Tucker (Calf)

Korkmaz will not play due to a personal commitment.

After missing Monday’s victory over Houston for unrelated personal reasons, Korkmaz was not included on the injury report for Tuesday’s game against the Rangers.

Meanwhile, Tucker (calf) is questionable for Wednesday’s game after leaving Monday’s win over Houston with left calf tightness. However, Georges Niang and/or Jalen McDaniels may get more minutes on the court if he is unable to play.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, who are currently on a roll, are probably not in the mood for the NBA to take a break for the All-Star game.

There is no stopping the Cleveland Cavaliers right now. The Cavaliers are currently riding a 7-game winning streak and sit at 38-22, good for fourth in the Eastern Conference and 4.5 games back of the division-leading Celtics. The Cavaliers recently defeated the San Antonio Spurs by a final score of 117-109 on Monday night.

In a 117-109 victory over the Spurs, Donovan Mitchell was the team’s undisputed offensive leader. Mitchell registered 41 points (16-26 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five assists, three rebounds, one block and one steal across 37 minutes.

This is his highest point total since he scored 46 against the Jazz on January 10.

Mitchell has had trouble staying healthy to start 2023, but he has been on a tear lately, scoring 20+ points in each of his last four games and averaging 30.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 3.8 threes, and 1.0 steals on 56.8 percent shooting.
