Gwyneth Paltrow admitted on her podcast that she has voluntarily undergone “rectal therapy” and eats a Paleolithic diet, both of which are considered “weird” wellness practices.
Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed the “pretty weird” health treatment
The famous actress discussed the unusual treatment on Dear Media’s The Art of Being Well podcast.
Paltrow explained: “I have used ozone therapy rectally. Can I say that?”
“It’s pretty weird. It’s pretty weird, yeah. But it’s been very helpful.”
According to Gwyneth, the benefits of her rectal treatment—a potent gas delivered to the colon via catheter—are enormous.
They include reduced pain and/or inflammation, increased energy, stimulated immune system, improved metabolism and/or circulation, detoxification and helps to fight bacterial and/or viral infections. The process is promoted as anti-aging in nature.
Paltrow also discussed some of her favorite health practices, including the consumption of ketone drinks. Gwyneth however acknowledged that the taste is unpleasant, comparing it to cherry gasoline.
“It helps with cognition and brain fog and energy. I have it with green tea in the afternoon. It tastes pretty, pretty bad.”
She continued: “I believe that they are coming out with an improved flavour or an improved version, which is very exciting.”
Paltrow continued by talking about how many different forms of self-care she incorporates into her daily routine. The celebrity is fond of a daily routine that includes TM, Pilates, and a Tracy Anderson workout.
In addition to eating a paleo diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts, and seeds, she enjoys pampering her body with infrared sauna sessions.
These are the sorts of foods that cavemen could regularly procure through hunting and gathering.
Her strict diet was the only thing she ever broke from when she was expecting her first child.
Paltrow admitted: “All I wanted was grilled cheese sandwiches and yogurt!”
