Thursday sees the Brooklyn Nets host the Sacramento Kings as they continue their push toward the playoffs. The game is at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and it starts at 7:30 p.m.
In a game from November, the Kings lit up the scoreboard by thrashing the Nets 153-121 at home. The Nets are 39-30 while the Kings are third in the Western Conference.
Update injury for Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings
With Ja Morant sidelined for the time being, the Sacramento Kings are in third place in the Western Conference and have an excellent chance to overtake the second-place Memphis Grizzlies.
The Kings have put up remarkable numbers this year, as they currently sit atop the NBA’s scoring rankings with a 121.3 PPG average. They are second in field goal percentage, third in assists, and ninth in three-point shooting.
De’Aaron Fox, the team’s star player, averages 25.5 points and 6.2 dimes per contest.
The Kings’ star finished Monday’s 133-124 loss to the Bucks with 35 points (13-23 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block in 37 minutes.
Fox rediscovered his shooting touch on Monday, raising his season field goal percentage to a career high 51.3 percent after a three-game slump in which he averaged 22.0 points on 45 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent shooting from deep.
Fox is less likely than many of the NBA’s top stars to sit out games for rest purposes over the final weeks of the season because the 40-27 Kings have plenty to play for in terms of playoff positioning.

At 39-30, the Brooklyn Nets are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and secure a playoff berth.
However, after a 121-107 loss at Oklahoma City on Tuesday, they fell behind the Knicks, who jumped a game ahead of them. They are trying to hold off the Miami Heat, who are just a couple of games behind them in 7th place.
- Ben Simmons – Out vs. Kings
Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports that Ben Simmons will not play on Thursday against the Kings due to a knee injury.
Simmons’ left knee inflammation has kept him out of action since February 15. Royce O’Neale, Seth Curry, and Joe Harris have benefited the most from Simmons’ absence due to coach Jacque Vaughn’s recent emphasis on a shallow rotation.
