Madonna, who can be seen puffing on a cigarette in her latest video for ‘Girls Gone Bad’ (see weirdly Gaga-esque snap shot from video above) has spoken on how she feels about her daughter taking up the dirty habit. Lourdes, who is just 15-years-old, was seen sparking up a cig in New York recently which caused a bit stir. Now Madonna has said that she “wasn’t very happy” when she found out and believes she should be a tougher mother: “I think I need to be maybe tougher, but it’s hard, though. It’s hard. Every day is a negotiation”.
She also goes on to say that she doesn’t like to see anyone smoking, especially not her own daughter: “I don’t approve of anyone smoking cigarettes, most of all my daughter”. If this is how she felt about smoking, why did she decide to include it in her own music video, glamorizing the habit? Not only does it make her a huge, gigantic hypocrite, but it also makes her a bad example, for her kids and for anyone else who watches her increasingly desperate music attempts. Although no one can judge who she is as a mother (and lets face it, teenagers are attracted to such rebellious actions on their own), it’s clear that Madonna’s own statements and actions are completely contradictory.
