Hugh Jackman, star of the X-Men films, is preparing to reprise his part as Wolverine next year by eating a massive 8,000 calories every day in preparation for the role.
Hugh Jackman reveals his ‘bulking diet’ of 8,000 calories a day to get into Wolverine shape
The Australian actor will star alongside Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool in the third installment of the X-Men spinoff film series.
For his upcoming role as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman has revealed his massive “bulking” diet.
Hugh, 54, however, has given his social media followers a glimpse into “a day in the life” of his preparation for the Marvel role.
The X-Men actor has confessed that, in order to bulk up for Wolverine, he is now eating an incredible 8,000 calories every day.
He then remarked, “Bulking. A day in the life. Thank you Chef Mario for helping me stay healthy and properly fed whilst… Becoming. Wolverine. Again.”
The Hollywood actor consumed an estimated 4,500 to 5,000 calories per day to gain 20 kilograms of muscle for his latest Wolverine role.
Hugh, however, has stepped up his Wolverine preparations in anticipation of the November 8, 2024 release of the Disney feature.
To which a supporter remarked, “You’re about to be HUGE JACKEDman.”
Hugh has not transformed into Wolverine since Logan in 2017.
The actor has announced via social media that he will virtually double his calorie intake for his new part.
To start off his lunch, Jackman eats a 2,000-calorie dish of black bass with vegetables, rice, and a herb sauce. This is followed by a 2,100-calorie dish of Patagonia salmon with potatoes and a sauce.
Despite consuming 4,000 calories, Hugh is still hungry.
Following this, he consumes two chicken patties (each containing about 1,000 calories) and two grass-fed sirloins (each containing about 1,100 calories).
The actor’s daily caloric intake is over three times the recommended amount for males by the NHS (about 1,500).
Astonished, one individual asked, “Is that per day? Holy hell. So that’s how much I need to eat to get the body I want? My stomach would hate me.”
Before his role as Wolverine, Jackman told Stephen Colbert of “The Late Show” in January that he was gradually increasing his caloric intake to 6,000 per day.
The actor has blown past his own lofty expectations.
This is Jackman’s first time portraying Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is controlled by Disney, and the first “Deadpool” film.
