This walkthrough will show you how to defeat Senseless Savant, the third major boss you’ll face in Chapter 10 of Forspoken.
How to defeat Senseless Savant in Forspoken
Phase 1
The Senseless Savant boss fight has two stages. During the first phase, you will battle the construct itself, which has the following abilities:
- Shockwave – This ability will move along the ground. Sidestep whenever you see a blue flash to avoid it.
- Giga Orb – The boss will spawn a large electric orb that will pursue you relentlessly. Continue running or dodging to avoid it.
- Giga Barrier – When the boss charges up and creates a large barrier, you must keep your distance. Otherwise, your health (and combo ranking) will gradually decrease as a result of aura damage. You should ideally switch to ranged attacks, such as Shot, Blast Slice, or Bolt/Fan Bolt.
- Teleport Slam – At around 60% health, your opponent will become invisible, though its outline can be seen. When you see the blue flash, simply press the dodge button to avoid its attack.
Phase 2
During this phase, it will summon two copies of itself that will use its moves as well. Yes, if you’re unlucky, you might see a couple of Giga Orbs or Giga Barriers active at the same time. You should also be aware of two specific abilities:
- Clone Resummon – As the name implies, the boss will summon a new clone whenever one is eliminated.
- Thunderclap – Your character will be impaired periodically. The screen will turn gray, and the sound will be muted.
When will you obtain Green Magic?
In any case, even if you defeat Senseless Savant in Forspoken, you will not yet be able to use Green Magic or Light Spells. You must instead proceed until Chapter 11. Because of major events, we won’t reveal everything, but here’s the gist:
- You’ll make your way to Tanta Olas’ castle and throne room.
- Following the incident, you’ll travel through several portals to learn more about the past.
- You’ll eventually come up against the Beast, a miniboss who is vulnerable to Earth/Purple Magic. After defeating the Beast, Tanta Olas’ spells/lightning skill tree will be unlocked.
