The Altered Borophagus can be found in The Sacred Peaks in Cipal or Tanta’s Demesne/Humble Plain/Shepherd’s Meadow in Visoria. You must have unlocked Zip in order to reach this mutant boss in the Secret Peaks.
This mutant is one of the most formidable in Cipal, as it is aided by three adversaries: Hylonomus, Harpagos, and Grugach. The boss has powerful melee attacks that can deal a great deal of damage quickly. You should focus your initial attacks on the enemies supporting the Altered Borophagus rather than the boss. Therefore, you must use Purple Magic to defeat the Hylonomus, Red Magic to defeat the Harpagos, and any type of magic to defeat the Gruagach.
As soon as you hear the boss roar, you should be prepared to heal, as it will gain a buff that allows it to deplete your health in a single blow. To defeat the Altered Borophagus, Frey’s magic such as Burst Shot, Implant, and Tendril are recommended.
When fighting this mutant in Shepherd’s Meadow, it is best to use Frey’s Magic or Prav’s Magic with Scatter Shot or Disperse against the flying Vorona. The mutant in Tanta’s Demesne will have you fight Amphicyon, which are most effectively countered by Frey’s Magic spells such as Disperse and Tendril.
