Authorities say that Yankees pitchers Domingo German and Luis Severino’s homes outside Tampa were burglarized last year.
Burglars stole more than $320,000 from the homes of Yankees’ Domingo German and Luis Severino
According to the Tampa Bay Times, Hillsborough County officials stated that the two Yankees’ homes were broken into during the regular season last year, on dates when they had home games in New York.
According to an affidavit cited by the outlet, four burglars allegedly stole “multiple purses and watches valued at approximately $20,000” from German’s home in Thonotosassa, about 15 miles northeast of Tampa, on April 19, last year.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows the suspects wearing masks, gloves, and hoods and leaving the scene in a Penske rental vehicle.
According to Hillsborough police, this incident was “similar to another residential burglary” that occurred at Severino’s home on June 1 and 3.
Over $300,000 in jewelry and other items were stolen from Severino’s Tarpon Springs home, which is about 30 miles northwest of Tampa.
The two burglaries were linked, according to the Tampa Bay Times, by a search warrant affidavit that linked one suspect to both scenes.
“Based on the multiple links between the Hillsborough County burglary of Domingo German’s residence and the Pinellas County burglary of Luis Severino’s residence … it is likely the burglaries were committed by the same group of suspects,” the warrant said.
