Honkai: Star Rail, like many other gacha games, features a pity system that guarantees you five-star drops after a set number of pulls. But how does it actually work?
Honkai: Star Rail Guide – How does the pity system work?
Honkai Star Rail’s “hard pity” is 90, which means that you are guaranteed to get a character or weapon in 90 pulls if you haven’t already. When you get a 5 star, the system resets, and you are guaranteed to get another 5 star within the next 90 pulls.
Standard Warp
- Every 90 Warps, a 5 Star is guaranteed.
- This 5 Star can be a character or a Light Cone.
You can pick any Standard character for free if you do 300 summons on the Standard banner. This is a special drop that does not count towards your pity.
Event Character Warp
- Every 90 Warps, a 5-star character is guaranteed.
- It’s a 50/50 chance that it’ll be the rate-up character.
- If you fail the 50/50, the next 5 Star you obtain will be the rate-up character.
- If you are extremely unlucky, it will take 180 total Warps to ensure a rate-up Event character.
Event Light Cone Warp
- Every 80 Warps, a 5-star Light Cone is guaranteed.
- It has a 75% chance of being the rate-up Light Cone.
- If you fail the 75/25, the rate-up Light Cone will be your next 5 Star.
- In the worst-case scenario, it will take 160 total Warps to guarantee a rate-up Event Light Cone.
Unlike the weapon banner in Genshin Impact, the light cone banner has a different function. You have a 75% chance of getting the featured light cone, and if you don’t, the next drop will be an on-banner light cone. The pity count, like the rotating banner, is carried over.
