Honkai: Star Rail 1.6 Release Date & Time
Mark your calendars! Honkai Star Rail 1.6 releases on Wednesday, December 27th. Due to time zone differences, it actually arrives in the United States on Tuesday, December 26th. Here’s a handy breakdown of the release times for different regions:
- East Coast US: Tuesday, December 26th, 10pm (ET)
- Central US: Tuesday, December 26th, 9pm (CT)
- West Coast US: Tuesday, December 26th, 7pm (PT)

New Banners Await
Version 1.6 introduces two new playable characters: Ruan Mei and Dr. Ratio. Each character will have two banner phases, with a third character, Xueyi, debuting alongside Ruan Mei.

In addition to the new characters, Kafka and Blade will be making a return in version 1.6. Blade’s banner will run alongside Ruan Mei’s in Phase 1 while Kafka’s will run alongside Dr. Ratio’s in Phase 2.

Beyond the new banners, version 1.6 brings a plethora of events to keep pilots engaged.
Critter Pick (Dec 27 – Feb 2)
Embark on the Critter Pick adventure in Honkai Star Rail, where collecting critters and nurturing them becomes the key to success. Roam the expansive map, meet specific objectives, and engage in cross-breeding to grow these creatures. Your efforts in this event will be rewarded with a plethora of prizes, including:

Planar Fissure (Jan 10 – Jan 17)
The Planar Fissure erupts once more! Double your Planar Ornaments by tackling this returning challenge, accessible after conquering Simulated Universe 3. Stockpile these valuable resources for powerful upgrades and enhancements.
Virtual Scentventure (TBA)
Engage in epic battles against six formidable boss enemies in the Virtual Scentventure event. Defeat normal and despair mode versions of each boss, strategically using scent plug-ins for bonuses. Upon conquering all foes, players will be rewarded with:

- Stellar Jade
- Relic Remains
- Traveler’s Guide
- Refined Aether
Realm of the Strange (TBA)
Another returning event, “Realm of the Strange,” arrives TBA but requires you to complete the “The Stars Are Cold Toys” Trailblazer Mission first. Delve into the Caverns of Corrosion and double your Cavern Relics collection!
Pure Fiction (Permanent)
Introducing the Pure Fiction challenge, where players must defeat as many enemies as possible within a specific time frame. Enemies respawn continuously, and each takedown earns valuable points. Exchange these points at the Jokes Come True Shop for various items. Completion of the Pure Fiction event rewards players with:

- Jade Feather
- Traveler’s Guide
- Refined Aether
Quest for the Crown
The centerpiece of the 1.6 update is the Trailblaze Continuance Mission, titled “Crown of the Mundane and Divine.” This mission takes players back to Herta Space Station, where they’ll cross paths with Ruan Mei conducting scientific experiments in the new Seclusion Zone area.
While version 1.6 doesn’t introduce new companion missions, players can look forward to a new weekly challenge, “Starcrusher Swarm King Skaracabaz,” and the Gold Gears update to the Simulated Universe.
