Hello Kitty Island Adventure: Red Hot Ruins Puzzle Guide
Finding the Red Hot Ruins
To begin, you’ll need to locate the Red Hot Ruins, which are situated on Mount Hothead on an abandoned island northwest of the world map. You can reach Mount Hothead either by ziplining or using flippers to swim to the island. To unlock the ziplines, raise your friendship level with Pochaco, while Keroppi will reward you with flippers for assisting him with one of his quests.
Raising Friendship Level with Retsuko
To access the ruins, you must reach friendship level 7 with Retsuko. You can do that by giving her gifts she like. Retsuko’s three-heart gift is the Volcanic Guitar, which you can find in the lava river on Hothead Mountain.
The Enraging Ruins Quest
Once you’ve achieved friendship level 7 with Retsuko, she will provide you with the Enraging Ruins quest, which involves solving the Red Hot Ruins puzzle.
Solving the Red Hot Ruins Puzzle
To solve the Red Hot Ruins puzzle, you’ll need to find three Red Power Crystals. To locate them, you can use the Power Crystal Sensor, which you obtain by befriending Chococat and completing the Power Up the Gate quest. Chococat will ask you to collect three Magnets from Badtz-maru, Tuxedosam, and Pochacco, and as a reward, he will give you the Sensor.
With the Power Crystal Sensor in hand, you can locate the Red Power Crystals on Mount Hothead Island:
- 1st Red Power Crystal: This crystal is located on the eastern path away from Retsuko, in the gray rocks area of the mountain.
- 2nd Red Power Crystal: You’ll find this crystal in the middle of a cluster of lakes on the east side of the island, right in front of twin waterfalls.
- 3rd Red Power Crystal: The third crystal is perched on top of a rock patio in front of a small lake on the beach, directly west of Retsuko.
Once you have collected all three Red Power Crystals, head to the Red Hot Ruins and place the crystals to activate the mechanism. The doors will then open, allowing you to enter the Red Hot Ruins. Retsuko and Chococat will join you on this adventure.
