Gwyneth Paltrow seems to have cut down on her acting work in recent years, and now she’s explained the obvious reason behind it – she’s spending more time with her kids and is focused on raising her family these days. Now she will only take on one role per year, and she generally isn’t looking for lead roles anymore either because they eat up too much of her time which isn’t something she can afford to do anymore. She says some people don’t understand how she can cut back on work:
“I think some people, they don’t understand the choice that I’ve made. I guess it can be seen as a risk because I don’t have the same movie career that I used to have, where I star in movies three times a year.”
Gwyneth says that she has put her career on the back burner while she raises her children. She doesn’t want to have too much on her plate and this way she can find a balance by just selecting smaller parts to take on instead – she believes it works the best for everyone in the family:
“I haven’t…starred in a movie since I had my kids. I just look for interesting supporting—biggish supporting parts, and try to do one a year, and that’s my limit. Some women can do it and that’s fantastic, but I can’t. You make choices as a wife and mother, don’t you? You can’t have it all. I don’t care what it looks like.”
