The popular former Fatui Harbinger Wanderer, as evidenced by leaks from Genshin Impact, is expected to play a pivotal role within the story unfolding in the Fontaine region.
Genshin Impact Wanderer may be crucial to the story of the Fontaine region
Fontaine is one of Teyvat’s most advanced regions, both technologically and thematically, with a focus on “justice,” a concept introduced in the game’s “Travail” trailer shortly after its release. The region is said to be home to the Hydro Archon, so it is likely to have large bodies of water and winding rivers. Now, new leaks have suggested Wanderer will make his way to the aquatic region.
Vississ, a well-known Genshin Impact leaker, recently shared a post that revealed Wanderer’s role in the game’s upcoming plot. If true, this leak would put to rest rumors that Wanderer would make an appearance in the story of Version 3.8. Nonetheless, Wanderer is said to have a part in the story of the Fontaine area, having most likely travelled there from Sumeru. If Wanderer does show up in Fontaine, it will be the third major city he has visited in the story.

The presence of Wanderer in Fontaine is not the only Fatui set to appear in the Hydro region, with multiple others rumored to play significant roles. Previous leaks have suggested that Fontaine, the third playable Fatui member, will be one of the female members, possibly Sandrone or Arlecchino. Other Fatui, such as Dottore, Sumeru’s Fatui antagonist, are also rumored to appear during Fontaine’s story.
Genshin Impact 4.0 is expected to arrive in August, and as that date draws nearer, more leaks pertaining to the Fontaine region will undoubtedly appear online. And right now, all we can do is wait patiently.
