Genshin Impact Guide – How to Unlock The Under The Umbrella’s Shade Domain

The Genshin Impact version 3.0 update is now available, allowing players to explore Sumeru, the game’s newest major area. Deep in the region’s jungles, there are numerous secrets to discover and puzzles to solve. Solving the puzzle in Mawtiyima Forest will grant access to the Under the Umbrella’s Shade Domain. Here’s what you need to know.

How to Unlock Under The Umbrella’s Shade Domain

To solve this puzzle, you must activate each elemental pillar around the perimeter of the Domain. If you don’t have a Dendro character, simply interact with the nearby Dendrogranum plant to fill your environment with Dendrograna. For a limited time, these little green sprites will follow up aimed bow shots or charged attacks with a Dendro attack, so use them to light up the pillars.

There are five elemental pillars that must be lit in a specific order. One of them is hidden behind a large stone that can only be destroyed by using a Dendrograna in conjunction with one of your aimed shots or charged attacks. Deal with the stone’s glowing green mark first, before beginning the puzzle.

At the base of each pillar, a symbol has been carved into the earth. Find the sole glowing symbol, then activate the pillar next to it. Each symbol will point in the direction of the next pillar that needs to be activated, so continue to light them up using the Dendrograna until all pillars are glowing green with Dendro energy like in the image above. After solving the puzzle, the Under the Umbrella’s Shade Domain will rise from the ground in a short cutscene. Approach the door and interact with it to establish a new teleport point that can be used at any time. To reward you for your efforts, a Common Chest will appear in front of the Domain.
