EA Sports has revealed another Cover Star Icon SBC for FIFA 23 FUT mode, and this time it features Brazilian legend Ronaldo R9. R9 joins icons like Ronaldinho, Rooney and Zidane as some of the best players released through SBCs during the FUTTIES promo.
FIFA 23 Reveals Ronaldo R9 Cover Star Icon SBC
R9 was the cover star for the special Icon Edition release of FIFA 18, making him eligible for the Cover Star Icon campaign in FIFA 23. Like previous SBCs for icons such as Ronaldinho, Rooney and Zidane, R9’s challenge will consist of over 20 squad building puzzles.
However, easier completion is ensured by the influx of high-rated player options due to SBCs like the repeatable 84+ and 85+ packs. R9’s 99-rated card is certain to have elite dribbling, shooting and physical stats due to his status as a two-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Some questioned Zidane’s in-game impact despite the great card, but R9 should feel like one of FIFA 23’s top strikers. With less than a month until the launch of EA Sports FC 24, this provides a final chance for FUT players to experience an icon of R9’s quality.
His addition means the popular FUTTIES promotion ends on a high, giving soccer fans one more opportunity to use one of the games true offensive legends before FIFA transitions into the new EA franchise for next year. R9’s SBC will be available for a limited time only.
