In this guide, we’ll go over what FFXIV Demiclones are, how they function, and when you should employ them.
How to get Demiclones in FFXIV
If an enemy drops a silver coffer, it might contain a Demiclone Generator. Demiclones will never be found in silver coffers that spawn on their own. Remember that you can only hold three of each type at a time. However, these consumables are extremely rare, and you’re unlikely to be maxed out very often.
What are Demiclones used for?
Demiclones are classified into three types:
- Doga Demiclone: Calls in a Black Mage NPC to fight alongside you. Has a ten-second area-of-effect stun that petrifies enemies. Casts thunder abilities that deal damage over time as well (DOT).
- Umei Demiclone: Calls in a White Mage NPC that casts Cure and Stoneskin. Can also apply a DOT to foes.
- Onion Knight Demiclone: Despite its name, the Onion Knight is the most powerful Demiclone. Uses a DOT as well as basic attacks. Has access to Onion Cure when your HP is low.
When should they be used?
Demiclones can only be used on one floor or until you die. It’s critical to activate them in a safe location because they have a long cast time and you’re not invincible while doing so.
Demiclones can be used whenever you want, but we recommend using them when you’re having difficulty with a specific floor or boss fight. They can significantly increase DPS, allowing you to survive an encounter before dying.
That’s all there is to Demiclones!
