In this article, we’ll go over the FFXIV 6.3 release date, as well as numerous details revealed in the Live Letter 75 that players can expect.
FFXIV 6.3 release date
The release date for FFXIV patch 6.3 is set for January 10, 2023. ‘Gods Revel, Lands Tremble’ is the title of the expansion.
FFXIV 6.3 Patch Details
Ultimate Duty 5 is The Omega Protocol (Ultimate). It will be released with patch 6.31, two weeks after patch 6.3, and you must have completed Abyssos: The Eight Circle (Savage) before attempting the latest installment of FFXIV’s hardest challenge mode.
The last remaining Heavensward dungeons that did not previously have Duty Support will now allow you to bring an NPC squad with you, usually made up of story-relevant characters. This means that, with the exception of Stormblood, all of the content in the free trial is now available with Duty Support.
Damage types will now be displayed in the combat log and floating text, allowing you to quickly determine whether you’re dealing with physical, magical, or unique damage. Furthermore, buffs and debuffs on the party list now show their remaining time underneath them, though you can turn this off in the settings menu if it clutters your display too much. There’s also a new HUD color setting, which gives you a lovely blue option for your menus if you’re tired of grey or cream.
We now have more information about job adjustments. The major changes are listed below, though Yoshida points out that this isn’t the complete list:
- Rotations have been shortened to accommodate high-powered actions.
- Goring Blade and Blade of Valor’s damage over time effect has been removed, and their potency has been adjusted.
- Divine Might is now applied after weaponskill combos, allowing an enhanced Holy Spirit to be executed once without casting.
- The effect of Holy Sheltron has been altered to reduce damage taken, thereby improving defensive capabilities against damage over time.
- Bulwark, a previously removed ability, has been revamped and reintroduced, providing increased defensive capability.
- Several other actions and combos have also had their utility increased.
Also in the live is the first look at Crystalline Conflict’s new arena, which includes stage hazards like flipping ground tiles that send characters flying high into the air if you stand on them for too long, and patrolling Yojimbo-style dolls that deal occasional huge bursts of damage in a circle slash around them. You can also collect ‘limit break packs’ to generate limit break charge.
The 24-player Alliance Raid titled Euphrosyne follows. It appears to be a beautiful outdoor area set among vast, rolling golden fields, with Yoshida remarking, “By the time everyone has reached the top of the hills, we will all be out of breath!”
Additionally, a brand-new Treasure Dungeon called The Shifting Gymnasion Agonon is introduced live and seems to be quite entertaining. This is a fast-paced group activity where your encounters are determined by spinning wheels.
The new Deep Dungeon, Eureka Orthos, is available in patch 6.35 and requires players to be level 81 or higher, as well as having completed both the Endwalker main quest and reaching level 50 in Palace of the Dead. In this dugeon, you’ll have to carefully pick your way past patrolling predators as you progress up the floors, using special poms to get through the toughest encounters and deal with deadly traps hidden throughout the network of rooms.
We get a look at a new hairstyle, which is a Eureka Orthos reward, as well as some new mounts. The first is a pink elephant that appears to be flying around with various lights and decorations. We also see a single-person propeller plane that appears to be quite dangerous to fly.
If you want to spend all of your Gil, there are two mounts just for you: a golden sheep and a quite frankly incredible-looking golden space monkey that looks like Overwatch’s Winston reimagined as an entrepreneur with too much money. There’s also a rather spectacular airship that sounds like it might be available for MGP.
Retainers now have a very useful new stack system that allows you to quickly transfer all items from your inventory that can stack onto matching items held by your retainer. You can untick certain items before transferring them, allowing you to keep anything you want and quickly deposit the rest.
The corgi minion teased during the 14-hour anniversary celebration stream makes an appearance, along with a blue plesiosaur-like creature, a tiny steam engine, a Loporrit pal, and a tiny little ghost-like friend based on Nier’s Automaton Mama. This minion will participate in a Nier: Reincarnation collaboration event.
The FFXIV Starlight Celebration 2022 event is currently underway, so make sure to participate as soon as possible if you want to obtain the new reindeer mount. Meanwhile, FFXIV 6.3 reinstates auto-demolition for player housing, so you’ll need to log in on a regular basis to keep your free company estate safe. If you’ve ever wished you could visit Eorzea in person, the FFXIV VR mod may be your best chance.
