Fantasy football owners are once again checking “injury updates” ahead of Week 6, and there are a lot of wide receivers available this week (James Conner, Dalton Schult and Jonathan Taylor)
Fantasy injury updates Week 6: James Conner, Dalton Schult and Jonathan Taylor
- James Conner
UPDATE 3: Conner (ribs) has been officially ruled out of Week 6.
UPDATE 2: According to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, Conner (ribs) was not seen practicing during the Cardinals’ open portion of practice. His availability for Week 6 is in doubt, as Eno Benjamin is expected to take on a heavy workload in Conner’s absence.
UPDATE: According to Darren Urban, Conner missed practice for the second day in a row on Thursday.
Conner (ribs) is listed as “day-to-day” for the Cardinals’ Week 6 road game against the Seahawks. Conner did not practice on Wednesday, and with fellow running back Darrel Williams (knee) already ruled out, Eno Benjamin emerges as a potential RB2.
We’ll see if Conner can return to practice on Thursday or Friday, and while some veterans, like Conner, can still play on Sundays if they don’t practice during the week, three straight DNPs isn’t a good sign for this Week 6 group. Given the matchup, if Conner is out, Benjamin is a must-start RB2.
UPDATE: Schultz has been removed from the Cowboys’ final injury report.
Schultz (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday ahead of the Cowboys’ game against the Eagles in prime time.
In last week’s win over the Rams, the veteran tight end reportedly aggravated his sprained PCL.
Schultz injured his knee in the second quarter and returned briefly before leaving the game. This season, the 26-year-old has nine receptions for 80 yards on 17 targets.
However, he has only received four targets and zero receptions in the last two weeks.
If Schultz plays on Sunday, he won’t be worth starting because the Eagles only allow 7.79 points per game to tight ends this season.
- Jonathan Taylor
UPDATE 2: Taylor (ankle) is expected to return to the field in Week 6.
UPDATE: Taylor (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday, according to Zak Keefer of the Athletic.
Based on the team’s official injury report, Taylor (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. While it’s not the best sign, there’s still hope he’ll be willing for the rematch against the Jaguars this Sunday.
Taylor was rehabbing off to the side during practice, according to Zak Keefer of the Athletic.
Fellow running back Nyheim Hines (concussion), who was ruled out of last Thursday night’s game in the first half, did get some limited practice in, increasing his chances of playing this week.
If Taylor misses a second straight game, Hines becomes a must-start PPR flex, while other RBs Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay may be worth a look.
