Fantasy Injury Report Week 8: Keenan Allen, Deon Jackson, Russell Wilson
- Keenan Allen
UPDATE: According to PFF’s Ari Meirov, Allen (hamstring) is officially listed as “questionable” for Week 7.
Allen (hamstring) participated in a limited practice session on Wednesday, which is a good sign for his potential return to game action in Week 7.
He has missed the Chargers’ last five games due to a hamstring injury suffered in Week 1, and his presence will be a welcome addition to an offense that struggled in the red zone last week.
In furthermore, fellow WR Josh Palmer was concussed in Los Angeles’ Week 6 victory over Denver and is currently in concussion protocol.
Palmer has essentially filled in for Allen as the team’s No. 2 wide receiver behind Mike Williams. If Allen is activated while Palmer is out, he will be a reliable WR2 in all formats in an intriguing matchup against Seattle.
- Deon Jackson
UPDATE: Jackson (quad) is not listed as a Week 7 injury on the Colts’ injury report.
Jackson (quad) participated fully in Wednesday’s practice as the Colts prepare to face the Titans in Week 7.
He was a popular waiver-wire pickup last week after gaining 121 yards and a touchdown on 22 touches. This included 10 receptions for 79 yards.
Despite the expected returns of Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines, we could see Jackson in the passing game if he makes it through practice without incident (concussion).
Consider Jackson a must-have handcuff for the time being, but he isn’t worth starting until we see how Indy divides up its backfield touches.
- Russell Wilson
UPDATE 2: According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, Wilson (hamstring) is officially “questionable” for the Broncos’ Week 7 game against the Jets.
UPDATE: Wilson (hamstring) was limited in practice on Thursday, according to James Palmer of NFL Network.
Wilson (hamstring) is “day to day” and participated in a limited practice session on Wednesday. He’ll be “questionable,” but he appears to be on track to start this week against the Jets.
Wilson looked promising in the first quarter of Denver’s Week 6 game against the Chargers, but he faded after a 39-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Greg Dulcich.
He has a career-low completion percentage of 58.6, and he ranks near the bottom of the league in red-zone accuracy rating (6.3), deep-ball accuracy rating (5.6), and under-pressure accuracy rating (5.6). (4.6).
His injury isn’t going to help his rushing ability, but he’s still a middle-of-the-pack option against a mediocre Jets pass defense. If he is unable to play, Denver’s offense will be further hampered by Brett Rypien.
