  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Start ‘Em: Quarterbacks

QB must-starts

  1. Justin Herbert, Chargers (vs. SEA)
  2. Lamar Jackson, Ravens (vs. CLE)
  3. Joe Burrow, Bengals (vs. ATL)
  4. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (at SF)
  5. Kyler Murray, Cardinals (vs. NO)

Stronger starts

Dak Prescott, Cowboys (vs. DET)

Rayne Dakota will return roaring against a terrible Lions pass defense, elevating all of Dallas’ weapons.

Aaron Rodgers, Packers (at WAS)

Rodgers will also get to work on a bad Commanders pass defense in a big rebound spot.

Derek Carr, Raiders (vs. HOU)

Carr should light up the Texans after a bye week with his full quiver of receivers.

Geno Smith, Seahawks (at LAC)

Smith didn’t need to force throws in Week 6 because Seattle’s defense and running game were on fire. He’ll throw a lot more against Justin Herbert in a great matchup for him and his receivers.

Tom Brady, Buccaneers (at CAR)

Brady will rip into the Panthers’ suddenly depleted defense to vent his frustrations about the Steelers, treating Carolina like his tablet and offensive linemen.

Matt Ryan, Colts (at TEN)

Ice was a cold assassin against the Jaguars thanks to strong pass protection and a strong running game, and he’ll do it again against the Titans.

Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers (at KC)

Given his team’s defensive injuries, Jimmy G will need to throw frequently to top targets on the other side of Patrick Mahomes.

Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins (vs. PIT)

He’s ready to start over, and he’ll rely on his wideouts to put up big numbers against a shaky secondary.

Daniel Jones, Giants (at JAX)

More Danny Dimes, please, as he will run and pass for viable numbers in Jacksonville.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Sit ‘Em: Quarterbacks

Weaker starts

Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (vs. NYG)

After getting away with shakiness in Indy, this is tough against a Wink Martindale defense.

Jared Goff, Lions (at DAL)

Even at home, Goff will sit against another defense.

Justin Fields, Bears (at NE)

Bill Belichick versus a young quarterback with few weapons? Good evening.

Marcus Mariota, Falcons (at CIN)

This may appear to be a volume-based play opposite Joe Burrow, but it’s a real trap if Mariota doesn’t deliver.

Ryan Tannehill, Titans (vs. IND)

Tannehill struggled in the first meeting between these teams, and this should be a run-heavy game.

Bailey Zappe, Patriots (vs. CHI)

If you’re Zappe, you should know the Patriots will win without having to throw much against a tough pass defense and an awful run defense.

Taylor Heinicke, Commanders (vs. GB)

As the Packers’ pass defense ramps up to expected levels, Heinicke will be suffocated filling in for Carson Wentz (finger).

Zach Wilson, Jets (at DEN)

Quarterbacks do not follow the Broncos defense.

Davis Mills, Texans (at LV)

The numbers say “yes,” but his limited road experience says “no.”

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Start ‘Em: Running backs

RB must-starts

  1. Saquon Barkley, Giants (at JAX)
  2. Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots (vs. CHI)
  3. Nick Chubb, Browns (at BAL)
  4. Austin Ekeler, Chargers (vs. SEA)
  5. Kenneth Walker, Seahawks (at LAC)
  6. Jonathan Taylor, Colts (if he returns, at TEN)
  7. Derrick Henry, Titans (vs. IND)
  8. Josh Jacobs, Raiders (vs. HOU)
  9. Christian McCaffrey, 49ers (vs. KC)
  10. Breece Hall, Jets (at DEN)
  11. Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers (at CAR)
  12. Joe Mixon, Bengals (vs. ATL)
  13. Aaron Jones, Packers (at WAS)
  14. Alvin Kamara, Saints (at ARI)
  15. Dameon Pierce, Texans (at LV)
  16. Najee Harris, Steelers (at MIA)
  17. D’Andre Swift, Lions (if he returns, at DAL)

Stronger starts

Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, Cowboys (vs. DET)

Zeke got going against the Eagles, and he and Pollard will keep the rushing attack going in this favorable situation.

Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders (vs. GB)

They didn’t hesitate in making him the starting running back, and power running is the best game plan against the Packer

Raheem Mostert, Dolphins (vs. PIT)

He’ll get the majority of the rushing volume in a better matchup with a better game script.

Travis Etienne Jr., Jaguars (vs. NYG)

He’s establishing himself as Jacksonville’s most dangerous all-around cog, and the Giants may give him a chance.

Cardinals’ Eno Benjamin (vs. NO)

He should get one more start and be considered a back-end RB2 or high-end flex option.

JK Dobbins or Kenyan Drake, Ravens (vs. CLE)

If Dobbins’ (knee) is fine, he can rip into this spot. Drake can stay hot at home if Dobbins is unavailable.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Sit ‘Em: Running backs

Weaker starts

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Chiefs (at SF)

The Falcons ran well against the 49ers, but no single running back stood out. In his own committee, CEH is dealing with suspect usage and TD dependency.

David Montgomery, Bears (at NE)

With little work in the passing game, you can bet he’ll be the focus of the Patriots’ defense.

AJ Dillon, Packers (at WAS)

Let’s hope we don’t jinx him, but he’s not producing as a No. 2 consistently enough.

James Robinson, Jaguars (vs. NYG)

He’s slowed down in comparison to Travis Etienne, and this matchup benefits his more explosive perimeter teammate.

Kareem Hunt, Browns (at BAL)

Let’s hope he’s not cursed, but he’s also not happening as a No. 2 consistently.

All Panthers (vs. TB)

With no CMC, D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard’s committee faces a brutal home matchup.

All Broncos (vs. NYJ)

What about Melvin Gordon? No. What about Mike Boone? Maybe. Murray, Latavius Um, OK. Avoid this backfield Hackett.

All Falcons (at CIN)

This week, good luck figuring out Tyler Allgeier vs. Caleb Huntley vs. Avery Williams.

Jamaal Williams, Lions (at DAL)

He’s a good committee power back, but don’t use him in this bad matchup.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Start ‘Em: Wide receivers

WR must-starts

  1. Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals (vs. ATL)
  2. Deebo Samuel, 49ers (vs. KC)
  3. Davante Adams, Raiders (vs. HOU)
  4. Michael Pittman Jr., Colts (at TEN)
  5. CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys (vs. DET)
  6. Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (vs. PIT)
  7. Mike Evans, Buccaneers (at CAR)
  8. Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins (vs. PIT)
  9. DK Metcalf, Seahawks (at LAC)
  10. Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (at LAC)
  11. Chris Olave, Saints (at ARI)
  12. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions (at DAL)
  13. Chris Godwin, Buccaneers (at CAR)
  14. Courtland Sutton, Broncos (vs. NYJ)
  15. Christian Kirk, Jaguars (vs. NYG)
  16. Terry McLaurin, Commanders (vs. GB)
  17. Mike Williams, Chargers (vs. SEA)
  18. Tee Higgins, Bengals (vs. ATL)
  19. Allen Lazard, Packers (at WAS)
  20. DeAndre Hopkins, Cardinals (vs. NO)
  21. Keenan Allen, Chargers (if he returns, vs. SEA)

Stronger starts

Romeo Doubs, Packers (at WAS)

Given the injuries to Randall Cobb (ankle) and Christian Watson (hamstring), Doubs should be a solid backup to Allen Lazard.

Alec Pierce, Colts (at TEN)

Pierce can blow these corners away from Michael Pittman.

Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers (vs. KC)

Aiyuk is on a roll and enters another juicy coverage matchup.

Brandin Cooks, Texans (at LV)

The Raiders are missing Nate Hobbs (hand) and their secondary is abysmal, so Cooks should have a post-bye game.

Diontae Johnson and George Pickens, Steelers (at MIA)

Let’s hope Kenny Pickett (concussion) plays so that these guys can get some traction against the Dolphins’ favorable coverage. If the quarterback is Mitchell Trubisky, the focus should shift from Pickens to Chase Claypool.

Hunter Renfrow, Raiders (vs. HOU)

Renfrow will be busy catching short passes against a classic zone defense.

Drake London, Falcons (at CIN)

The passing volume will increase, and he will be able to produce in garbage time.

Rondale Moore, Cardinals (at NO)

He’s been very busy lately, and that’ll continue with shorter passes without Marquise Brown (foot).

Tyler Boyd, Bengals (vs. ATL)

The Falcons have been good on the outside but vulnerable in the slot, and now their top two cornerbacks are injured.

Michael Gallup, Cowboys (vs. DET)

Dak returns for the downfield passing success vs. corner Amani Oruwariye.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Sit ‘Em: Wide receivers

Weaker starts

D.J. Moore, Panthers (vs. TB)

He was completely squeezed last week, and things aren’t looking up.

Amari Cooper, Browns (at BAL)

The Ravens’ secondary is much better, and he was fortunate to get a touchdown despite his poor overall performance last week.

Curtis Samuel, Commanders (vs. GB)

After a flop, the QB switch, and this particular matchup do not help him.

Jerry Jeudy, Broncos (vs. NYJ)

This isn’t looking good against the Jets’ improving pass defense.

All Jets (at DEN)

They simply aren’t happening with Zach Wilson, and this pass defense is formidable.

Darnell Mooney, Bears (at NE)

The Patriots’ secondary will have no trouble shutting down Chicago’s one dangerous deep target.

All Patriots (vs. CHI)

With Jaylon Johnson’s return, the Bears’ coverage improved, but it’s difficult to predict where the key targets for Jakobi Meyers and others will go in a given week.

All Titans (vs. IND)

It’s still difficult to put your trust in anyone here.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Start ‘Em: Tight ends

TE must-starts

  1. Kyle Pitts, Falcons (at CIN)
  2. Darren Waller, Raiders (if he returns, vs. HOU)
  3. T.J. Hockenson, Lions (vs. DAL)
  4. Zach Ertz, Cardinals (vs. NO)
  5. Travis Kelce, Chiefs (at SF)
  6. Mark Andrews, Ravens (vs. CLE)
  7. George Kittle, 49ers (vs. KC)

Stronger starts

Robert Tonyan, Packers (at WAS)

The numbers say no, but given their injuries, he’ll be used more as a wideout hybrid.

David Njoku, Browns (at BAL)

He continues to make big plays with key targets, and the Ravens remain vulnerable at the position.

Gerald Everett, Chargers (vs. SEA)

What a fantastic REVENGE matchup.

Daniel Bellinger, Giants (at JAX)

For whom does the bell ring? It rings true for the Jaguars, who struggled last week against the Colts’ committee.

Hayden Hurst, Bengals (vs. ATL)

What a fantastic REVENGE matchup.

Evan Engram, Jaguars (vs. NYG)

What a fantastic REVENGE matchup.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Sit ‘Em: Tight ends

Weaker starts

Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith, Patriots (vs. CHI)

Because the Bears don’t give up much at the position, they’ll be used more as ace run blockers.

Pat Freiermuth, Steelers (at MIA)

When Pickett is set to start over Trubisky, he’s difficult to trust.

Tyler Conklin, Jets (at DEN)

Add him to the list of underwhelming targets on this team.

Taysom Hill, Saints (at ARI)

The Cardinals allow a lot to tight ends. The issue is that he isn’t really a tight end.

Noah Fant, Seahawks (at LAC)

Late usage is preferable, but you can’t go there.

Cole Kmet, Bears (at NE)

It’s a nyet against Kyle Dugger right now.

Mike Gesicki, Dolphins (vs. PiT)

This week, we’re not going to buy him or his Griddy.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Start ‘Em: Defenses

Defense must-starts

  1. Buccaneers (at CAR)
  2. Packers (at WAS)
  3. Ravens (vs. CLE)
  4. Broncos (vs. NYJ)
  5. Patriots (vs. CHI)
  6. Cowboys (vs. DET)

Stronger starts

Bengals (vs. ATL)

They play better defense at home, and Marcus Mariota should set up sacks and turnovers.

Cardinals (vs. NO)

They get the emotional boost of a prime-time home game against a shaky passing offense.

Giants (at JAX) and Jaguars (vs. NYG)

Bring out the Spider-Man meme for some good big plays on both sides.

Dolphins (vs. PIT)

The Steelers have some appeal here as well, but the home team is a better bet in prime time against an uncertain quarterback situation.

Raiders (vs. HOU)

Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones can assist them in scoring enough points against Davis Mills.

  • Fantasy Football Week 7 Sit ‘Em: Defenses

Weaker starts

Chargers (vs. SEA)

Not against a clean offensive team that relies heavily on the run.

Saints (at ARI)

Given how they’re playing, you can’t march with them.

49ers (vs. KC)

Not with their injuries compared to Mahomes.

Chiefs (at SF)

Not on the road against a high-powered offense.

Colts (at TEN) and Titans (vs. IND)

In any case, this does not appear to be an inspiring play.

Bears (at NE)

Not at all… Zappe, Bailey? Yep.
