The Hobbit actress Evangeline Lilly says she won’t be considering plastic surgery or botox as she ages. She believes those in the spotlight that forgo cosmetic procedures are more respected, and she also thinks surgery can look quite bad, so for those reasons she hopes she can avoid having anything done in the future:
”I think women in Hollywood who don’t do Botox and plastic surgery are revered, I revere them…My plan is to never go there. I’m too vain to get plastic surgery because I don’t like how it looks, and I want to look my best.”
Speaking candidly on her figure, Evangeline explains that her body has changed as she has aged, especially since welcoming a child, but that has made her more comfortable to experiment with her look and she’s been more willing to take fashion risks:
”I’m 35. I’m a mom, and my body isn’t the same as it was at 25 … I’ve earned the right to take chances. That’s the benefit of getting older and wiser – your risks don’t have to be calculated anymore.”
The actress adds that she is still getting started with her love for fashion and thinks it’s an interesting process to create an image. She enjoys trying out a wide range of different styles but feels most comfortable in a slightly androgynous look:
”I haven’t even scratched the surface of fashion yet. If you are not a clearly defined human being, it is very hard to define your image … What I’ve realized in my own journey in fashion is that I’m not that defined. I do feel like I’m at ease in my own skin when I find an androgynous balance.”
