Drew Barrymore, who recently tied the knot and welcomed her first child – a daughter named Olive, has opened up on her rebellious teenage years as a child star. The actress shot to fame at an early age and even had a stint in rehab, but reflecting back on her wild side now, she believes it make much more sense to her now than it ever did even if she still doesn’t feel as though she’s fully grown up:

“The mistakes, the potholes, the journeys, the bad patterns – all of it is so much clearer to me now…but I still don’t totally feel like a grown-up. Maybe I never will.”

Drew also says she is a committed person and always applies herself – be it the new makeup line she’s working on, an acting project or something in her life such as motherhood, she is determined to apply herself fully to the task at hand and knows every detail of everything inside out:

“I will always commit. It’s like this makeup line: I can tell you every single detail about how and why we got here. I want to be that kind of mother. I’m that kind of friend. I’m that kind of producer. I do everything in this life-or-death way…The only thing I’ve tried to get better at is starting to believe maybe it’s not life or death. But the [level of] commitment hasn’t changed or wavered.”

Commenting on her relationship with husband Will Kopelman:

“We have opposite experiences, but we’re not opposites. We’re both very particular and detail-oriented. We love art and music and adventures, and we laugh our asses off together. I’m a Kopelman now. I have stationery that says ‘Drew Barrymore Kopelman’. I love to sort of honor and be a part of the family business with Chanel, and then I try to do a little something funky and me. I wear a lot of Chanel now.”
