Denzel Perryman will be a free agent this offseason, and it is unclear what the team will do with him.
What will happen between Denzel Perryman and the Raiders going forward?
He uploaded a picture of himself to Instagram with the caption: “I just ask God for an opportunity, the rest is on me .. See y’all next year.”
Some fans speculated that it meant he signed a contract extension with the Raiders and that he’ll be seeing fans beyond this season.
Perryman isn’t listed on this week’s injury report, so he’s probably not saying he’ll see “y’all” next year because he won’t be playing.

Should the Raiders extend Perryman’s contract?
Perryman isn’t the ideal linebacker for today’s NFL. He is, however, a beast in the run game. Despite missing three games, he is tied for 10th in the with 13 tackles for loss. And according to Pro Football Focus, he is also the Raiders’ highest-graded linebacker.
Given how bad the team has been at linebacker for years, it would be foolish to let a good one go. Yes, he struggles with pass coverage, but he remains one of the few playmakers on defense.
The Raiders should be able to keep him for a reasonable price. They would be wise to keep him because of his leadership and influence on run defense.
Perryman exhorts his team to finish the season strong
The team won an unlikely game against the Patriots on Sunday, but Perryman wants the team to stay focused: “We just got to keep it going, man,” Perryman said Sunday. “At the end of the day, we just finished.”
One more loss will almost certainly end the Raiders’ chances of making the playoffs. With games against the Steelers, 49ers, and Chiefs remaining in the schedule, winning will be difficult.
If they win the rest of their games and make the playoffs, it will be one of the most incredible comebacks in NFL history.
