X Factor judge Demi Lovato has spoken on how being diagnosed with bipolar disorder actually gave her a sense of relief because it made her realize that there is a good reason for the way she was feeling and for the things she went through. She says she is happy to know she isn’t totally crazy:
“Like I’m not completely crazy; there’s a medical reason for all of it.”
Demi says that she is slowly recovering from an eating disorder and other issues and says it is a daily battle which doesn’t give her any breaks. She candidly comments that if she feels she may need help she now knows to ask for it:
“It’s a daily thing; you don’t get time off from it. And if I feel myself slipping back into old patterns, I have to ask others for help, which is hard for me to learn, because I really like doing everything on my own.”
Speaking on what would be a great relationship, Demi says there aren’t many things that turn her off because she wouldn’t judge someone without trying to understand their situation first, which is something she hopes someone would do for her too because of what she has been through:
“I don’t have many deal breakers. I’ve done so much in my life, it doesn’t feel right to judge other people. Oh, I know one quality I won’t tolerate. I would never be with a guy who is controlling.”
Revealing her plans to start a family, Demi says she wants to be married in the near future:
“I want to be married with kids in 10 years.”
