Aside from the blockbuster deal for Sean Murphy, the Braves have had a relatively quiet offseason. The majority of the organization’s news revolves around Dansby Swanson. And they can now explode with the Bryan Reynolds deal.
The Atlanta Braves have long been connected to Bryan Reynolds
Reynolds, who turns 28 next month, is one of the game’s most productive outfielders. Reynolds is not only productive, but also extremely durable, making him even more expensive to acquire.
The Braves reportedly made a “big-time” offer during the 2021 season, but Pittsburgh ultimately decided to keep him. It was reported earlier this offseason that Atlanta could make a “strong, under-the-radar push for Reynolds this winter.”

The Pirates reportedly want a “Juan Soto-type” haul for Reynolds, and it appears that their preference is pitchers, which the Braves have.
The Braves have a few pitchers on their farm and major league rosters that they could trade for Reynolds.
According to MLB.com, Jared Shuster is the Braves’ top prospect, the organization’s next two highest-rated prospects are both pitchers — Owen Murphy and JR Ritchie.
It would add to an already thin farm system, but the possibility of acquiring someone of Reynolds’ caliber justifies the move for a team with World Series aspirations.
