In a glamorous Vogue shoot by legendary director Baz Luhrmann, Blake Lively portrayed a jewel thief named The Cat alongside Hugh Jackman as L’Ombre, a man who falls in love with the thief and is secretly trying to catch her.
On the cover, the actress is seen holding a Cartier High Jewelry necklace while she poses in a glam black dress and immaculately styled hair.
As the story begins, The Cat sits on a railing overlooking Monte Carlo at night admiring her latest prize – a ruby necklace which had belonged to Elizabeth Taylor.
In the final shot, Blake is arrested with her eyes on L’Ombre, yet he manages to turn his head away from The Cat . ‘As L’Ombre resists the urge to steal one last glance… The question lingers in the air: “What might have been?”‘ the script reads.
