Blake Lively stars in Oliver Stone’s new film, ‘Savages’ for which she had to film sex scenes with actors Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson. Blake says that she was happy to get the sex scenes done first because it helped the cast bond and it gets all of the awkwardness out of the way, even if the scenes were scary and daunting at first:
”They were very intense and very scary and we shot them on the first day and I mean if you don’t feel comfortable with a person after that it’s going to be a long road. It was lucky that we got to do that first ultimately because we really bonded.”
The film was based on a real life story which sees the two male characters fighting to save their shared girlfriend (Blake) from a Mexican drug cartel. Blake says that because the content was so real she wanted to make sure the story was told correctly and that the cast did the moving tale justice:
”The content is something that’s really scary, you know especially someone who’s so close with their family and has a very young audience. But to do something this violent, this graphic, this racy is something that’s scary but also it was such an exciting challenge. When you hear these people and hear that it’s their real life story, it gives you such a responsibility to do it well and do it right.”
