Deep in the sewers of Baldur’s Gate 3, beneath crumbling ruins, lies Bhaal’s Door – a foreboding blood-locked gateway barring access to the Temple of Bhaal. What mysteries hide in the booby-trapped temple? The only way to find out is to first conquer Bhaal’s Door.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Guide – How to Open Bhaal’s Door to Reach the Temple of Bhaal
Pinpointing Bhaal’s Door
To find Bhaal’s Door, delve into the sewers and make your way north to the Undercity Ruins waypoint. There you’ll see it – a massive wall blocking your path, immune to lockpicks or brute force. This blood seal demands a fitting sacrifice before it will open.
Cracking the Blood Seal
To open Bhaal’s Door, turn away from the doorway itself and look up. Hanging overhead are two lifeless bodies. Use ranged attacks or spells to strike the corpses until blood spills onto the circular platform below. Once sufficiently saturated, the seal will dissolve and the way forward opens.
I found simple archer shots worked fine; no need to waste abilities on it. The blood offering is macabre but necessary to proceed.
What Lies Within
Beyond Bhaal’s Door, the road to the Temple of Bhaal is still perilous. The Farslayer and his hordes bar the way, and won’t let you pass easily. But with skill and determination, you can defeat them and finally breach the temple, where secrets like Dribbles the Clown’s severed head await the bold.
While Bhaal’s Door is but the first trial, it need not be the last. For cunning adventurers willing to do what’s necessary, the way through Bhaal’s blood seal is open. Now steel yourself, and see what other dark wonders Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Undercity Ruins have in store!
