Gear up for September 2024, adventurers! Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 7 is slated for release sometime during that month. While an exact date isn’t confirmed yet, September is when you can expect the update to drop.
What’s New?
This update caters to both the righteous and the malevolent. Players can expect new “evil endings” alongside a suite of improvements like bug fixes and quality-of-life enhancements.
Unleash Your Inner Modder (PC Only…For Now)
The real star of the show, however, is mod support. PC players will gain access to an official toolkit, allowing them to craft and share custom content for the game. This breathes new life into Baldur’s Gate 3 and empowers the community to create unique experiences.
Console Players Get a Slice of the Mod Pie (Eventually)
While console adventurers won’t be able to directly create mods, they won’t be left out entirely. Larian plans to bring curated PC mods to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S sometime after the September release. This ensures everyone gets to enjoy the creativity of the modding community.
Not All Mods Are Created Equal
There will be some limitations, however. Larian will curate which PC mods make it to consoles, focusing on content that adheres to specific guidelines. Script changes and NSFW mods likely won’t make the cut. The studio is still ironing out how to support modders whose creations fall outside the official umbrella.
