76ers vs. Hawks Injuries: 3 Questionable, 1 Out
The Atlanta Hawks will try to keep their spot in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament when they host the Philadelphia 76ers in their final regular-season home game.
The Hawks (41-39) are eighth in the Eastern Conference after winning three straight games after defeating the visiting Washington Wizards 134-116 on Wednesday. With two games remaining, they lead the ninth-place Toronto Raptors (40-40) by one game, and Atlanta holds the tiebreaker.
The Sixers (52-28) have already clinched the third spot in the Eastern Conference. The visiting Miami Heat thrashed them 129-101 on Thursday, and they have now lost two of their last three games and five of their last eight.
Rivers believes the Sixers must continue to move the ball on offense and not rely solely on Joel Embiid (33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds). Embiid was held to 12 points and six rebounds in the Heat’s loss.
Embiid (rest) will not play against the Hawks on Friday, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Embiid has only missed two games since the end of January, but he will sit out Friday as the team has clinched the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Sixers will also be on the second leg of a back-to-back, so more of the usual starters could sit out. Both Paul Reed and Dewayne Dedmon should see increased playing time on Friday.

Tyrese Maxey was held out of Thursday’s game due to neck stiffness, and De’Anthony Melton left the game in the third quarter with a right calf strain. Rivers also intends to manage minutes in the final week before the playoffs start.
On Friday, James Harden will face the Hawks.
Over his last five games, the Arizona State product has averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 10.2 assists, and 1.6 steals in 39.2 minutes.
This will be the teams’ fourth meeting of the season. The Hawks won the first meeting in Atlanta, but the Sixers won the next two in Philadelphia, including a 104-101 victory on Nov. 28.
