The original film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel of the same name, starred Anne alongside Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt. In 2013, Lauren released the sequel novel Revenge Wears Prada.
When asked if a sequel film was in the works, Anne told Just Jared, “I don’t know if there can be… “I don’t know if there can be… I just think that movie was in a different era.”
She explained that the setting of the original story in a physical magazine company would not reflect how the fashion industry operates today.
“They could relaunch it, get some new people, and do it,” the actress conceded.
Anne also described how she ended up wearing an outfit similar to Andy’s final outfit in The Devil Wears Prada to fashion week. “It happened right away. “It just happened. I was supposed to wear something else,” she explained.
