Angelina Jolie took on the role of a scary witch in ‘Maleficent’ and admits that her costume used to frighten children who visited the set. Not realizing how scary her costume was, Angelina would often greet the young kids who arrived on set, but they would end up being terrified of her appearance:
“These little kids would visit the set, and I would think, ‘Oh, I am a Disney character,’ so I would go over to them, and say, ‘Hi there.’ They would just scream. One little kid even said, ‘Mommy, please make the mean witch stop talking to me’.”
Angelina reveals that only her own daughter wasn’t frightened of her while she was in costume. She also speaks on her role as the evil ‘Maleficent’, commenting that she was always attracted to her as a character, even from a very young age because she had a mysterious quality:
“Vivienne was the only 4-year-old who didn’t scream when she saw me, since I was a little girl, Maleficent was always my favorite. I was terrified of her, but I was so drawn to her,” she added. “I wanted to know more about her – I wanted to know what she was like and who she was.”
