When Amber Heard was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger, it was at first speculated that it was simply a promise ring. However, it now appears that the actress is engaged to boyfriend Johnny Depp. Amber was seen trying to cover up the big rock when paparazzi surrounded her recently and sources have confirmed that Johnny popped the question on Christmas Eve. According to an insider, Amber took a while to decide about the engagement and hadn’t been wearing the ring up until now:
”The proposal happened a while ago. She just didn’t wear the ring. It happened on Christmas Eve (24.12.13). Amber really took her time to make up her mind. She turned him down before she said yes. So she waited and was thinking about it for a long time.”
Another source close to the couple has said that they are a perfect match and Amber is a compatible “free spirit” who understands Johnny:
”She’s a great match for him and his individuality. She’s a free spirit. They couldn’t be happier.”
50-year-old Johnny and 27-year-old Amber have yet to confirm the news, but the couple were recently seen leaving a restaurant in West Hollywood where Amber was spotted with the large ring. Amber has already been photographed getting close to Johnny’s two children from his previously relationship with Vanessa Paradis – she was seen on a trip to Tokyo with daughter Lily-Rose and son Jack. Johnny previously commented on not marrying long-time love Vanessa:
“I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, okay you’re married. If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not. But the thing is, I’d be so scared of ruining her last name. She’s got such a good last name.”
