The TV hostess made the announcement on Friday’s episode of This Morning while talking to former Big Brother star Kate Lawler and co-host Dermot O’Leary about Rihanna’s upcoming half-time performance at Super Bowl LVII.
During a discussion of possible guest stars for the Barbadian singer, Alison revealed that she had met her in the past.
What led up to the confrontation was described by her as follows: ‘I saw her on a flight’, she said, and Kate asked: ‘Was she in economy?’
Continuing, Alison said: ‘Well what happened right – no seriously, my seat broke!’ She and Dermot break into laughter, before Kate adds: ‘What is it with you and breaking things!’
On the other hand, Alison asserts: ‘No, the seat was broken so they upgraded me to first class. Next thing I know, I’ve got Ri Ri in front of me, I’ve got Jennifer Hudson behind me, it was unbelievable, honestly. That was the first time I went in first class.’
During a conversation about Rihanna’s upcoming concert, Alison mentioned that she and the singer had once sat next to each other on a plane.
Alison made the announcement after throwing a joint birthday party for herself and her son Aiden on Saturday night, where she turned 48.
A fan got a glimpse of the star-studded Solihull party thanks to the host’s Instagram Live broadcast, in which she saw a guest waving cash and drag queens performing for the camera.
