British actor Jude Law has said that sporting a moustache forced him to change his overall style. Jude, who grew the facial hair for his part in Sherlock Holmes, says that his style often changes on the roles he is working on and he takes his facial hair into consideration when coming up with a new look:
”My style changes with roles. Having a moustache and sideburns as Watson in the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ films forced me to try new clothes. Jeans and a leather jacket didn’t look so good anymore, so I bought a corduroy jacket and big snuggly jumpers. Suddenly, they looked cool.”
Jude loves the idea of clothing items that last, and has several special things that have lasted him a long time, which he hopes to pass along to his children some day when they are nicely vintaged. He’s even hung onto a tuxedo that holds some good memories that he hopes to gift to his son in years to come:
”I love the idea of durability, that you can buy a classic, beautifully-made suit or leather bag that will last for years. I like to keep things that I know I can pass on to my children. I’ve still got the tuxedo I wore to my first ever Oscars ceremony so I can give it to my son.”
