Warhammer 40,000: Darktide players rejoice! Fatshark has announced the upcoming release of their next free major update, “Secrets of the Machine God,” during the Warhammer Skulls 2024 showcase.
About Warhammer 40K
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a first-person action co-operative video game set in the grim and dark universe of Warhammer 40,000. Developed by Fatshark, the creators of the Vermintide series, Darktide is considered a spiritual successor to that franchise. Players take on the role of Rejects, prisoners pressed into service to fight the overwhelming tide of enemies threatening the hive city of Tertium.
Warhammer 40K Darktide Secrets of the Machine God Update Release Date Revealed
Mark your calendars, because Secrets of the Machine God blasts its way onto PC and Xbox Series X/S on June 25th. This substantial update is entirely free for existing Darktide owners, so prepare to purge some Xenos scum in style.
The update plunges players into a new mission set within the derelict Mechanicus foundry complex on Atelium Foundryplex Omega V. Your task, as part of the ongoing narrative, is to secure and reactivate this lost facility alongside a – shall we say – less than reliable Mechanicus contact. Success will not only bolster the Imperium’s war effort, but also line your pockets with a hefty Imperial reward.
New Weapons and Challenges
Secrets of the Machine God brings a new arsenal to the fight against the Xenos threat. Players will wield the classic Bolt Pistol, alongside the brutal two-handed Ogryn weapons: Pickaxes and Shockmauls. A new shotgun also joins the fray, perfect for close-quarters combat.
The update also introduces “Hestia’s Decollation Crusade,” a pilot in-game event challenging players to collect enemy heads in exchange for valuable in-game currencies like Ordo Dockets, Plasteel, and Diamantine. Expect a relentless tide of enemies eager to separate your head from your shoulders, but fear not – these foes are persistent, not immortal.
Get ready to purge the unclean and earn riches when Warhammer 40K Secrets of the Machine God drops later this June!
