Taking care of infants in The Sims 4 can be adorable, but sometimes you might be eager to get them to the toddler stage where they can interact more. Here are two ways to age up your infants: using a birthday cake and with a cheat code.
How to Age Up Your Sims 4 Infant
Birthday Blowout
This is the most traditional way to age up Sims in the game. It’s perfect if you want to maintain a natural gameplay feel. Here’s what you need to do:
- Have any adult Sim in your household cook a cake. The easiest option is the Chocolate Cake, which requires no additional ingredients.
- Once the cake is baked, click on it and choose “Add Birthday Candles.” This will incur a small fee.
- Select your infant Sim and then click on the cake again. Choose “Have [Sim Name] Blow Out Candles.” If your infant needs help, select “Candles Help…” and choose an adult Sim to assist.
- Watch as your infant Sim celebrates their birthday and ages up to a toddler!
Cheat Code Shortcut
For a quicker (and potentially safer!) method, especially if your Sim has the “Unlucky Chef” trait, you can use a cheat code. Here’s how to bypass the cake and go straight to toddlerhood:
- Open the cheat command box using the following keys depending on your platform:
- Console: All four triggers
- Mac: Command + Shift + C
- PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Type “testingcheats true” in the cheat box and press Enter. This activates cheats in your game.
- Type “cas.fulleditmode” in the cheat box and press Enter. This grants you full access to modify your Sims.
- Hold down the Shift key and click on your infant Sim.
- Choose “Modify in CAS” from the pop-up menu.
- In the CAS (Create a Sim) menu, you can now age your infant to a toddler in the top left corner. Additionally, you can edit their appearance and assign them a new toddler trait before finalizing the changes.
With these two methods, you can choose how you want to age up your infant Sim – a traditional birthday celebration or a quick and convenient cheat code. So go forth and manage your Sims’ lives with newfound ease!
