How to Solve Ruin Puzzles in Fortnite
Ruins, also referred to as Temple Vaults, are distinct locations hidden within the Jungle Biome of Fortnite. Similar to regular Vaults, they hold valuable loot for intrepid players to claim. However, unlike standard Vaults that require Keycards to unlock, Ruins demand puzzle-solving skills to grant access.
To gain entry into a Ruin, you must solve one of three types of puzzles that serve as its guardians. Here’s how to conquer each type of Ruin puzzle:
Statue Puzzle
Statue Puzzles typically guard the minor Ruins in Fortnite and are the simplest of the three puzzles. When you approach a minor Ruin door, you’ll receive a prompt to “seek… statue… is the… one.” This prompt refers to the statues positioned to the right and left of the door.
To solve this puzzle, interact with one of the statues. If you choose the correct one, the Ruin door will open, revealing the loot within. However, if you select the wrong statue, you’ll be teleported into the sky via a rift.
Unfortunately, there is no surefire way to know which statue is the correct one without testing them out. Take your best guess, and if you’re wrong, go back and interact with the other statue to solve the puzzle and open the Ruin.
Worthy Item Puzzle
The Worthy Item Puzzle guards the entrance to most major Ruins. To unlock the Ruin door, you must donate an item deemed worthy by the door’s standards. Look for an item in your inventory that matches the color emitted by the door. Sacrifice the chosen item to open the door and access the Ruin’s treasures.
Find Flames Brazier Puzzle
The Find Flames Brazier Puzzle is one of the trickier Ruin puzzles. When you approach a Ruin door, you’ll receive the instruction to “find… flames.” Look around the area for a set of braziers emitting purple flames. These braziers hold the key to solving the puzzle. Inside the Ruin, you’ll find another set of braziers corresponding to those outside the door. Note which braziers are lit and which aren’t.
Now, return to the braziers outside the door and light or extinguish them in the correct order to match the flames you observed inside the Ruin. If done correctly, the Ruin door will open, granting you access to the hidden treasures within.
