Lakers star D’Angelo Russell Leaves Ja Morant a ‘Coded Message’

D’Angelo Russell seems to be giving troublesome young star Ja Morant some sound advise.

D’Angelo Russell Has a Cryptic Message for Ja Morant

After Morant was suspended again for a gun incident, Russell reportedly tweeted some words of wisdom to him.

Tweet from Russell: ”If you can’t change the people around you, change the people around you.”

Russell implies that if you can’t change the way other people act, you should either distance yourself from them or stop interacting with them altogether.

Russell apparently doesn’t like the people that Morant is friends with, including Davonte Pack.

Pack doesn’t seem to be enhancing Morant’s reputation or helping him exercise more self-control, and he’s generally by his side whenever Morant gets into trouble.

Pack was the one who initiated the live Instagram video in which Morant displayed a gun.

In January of this year, Pack was also barred from entering the Memphis arena.

After the game, as the Pacers were going on the team bus, the driver of the SUV Morant was in pointed a red laser at them.

The NBA decided to ban Pack after an investigation on the incident. On the same evening, he had an argument with Ja’s dad, Tee Morant, and had to be physically removed from the venue.

It’s obvious that Morant and his teammates lack maturity, much as Russell did in his rookie season with the Lakers.

Russell’s maturity and commitment on the game appear to have increased since his return to the squad.

One of the most brilliant young prospects in the NBA, despite all of his off-court controversy, Russell may be urging the 23-year-old Morant to do the same.

The point guard led the league in scoring at 26.2 points per game, while also grabbing 5.9 boards and dishing out 8.1 assists.

Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated has speculated that Morant may be punished for half a season or more, effectively ending his basketball career.
