As the release date of Dead Island 2 draws near, many plaeyrs are curious as to whether or not the game will utilize Denuvo DRM.
IS Denuvo DRM used in Dead Island 2?
Denuvo DRM, for those who are unfamiliar, is an anti-piracy solution that makes it more difficult for users to crack video games by extending the amount of time that they can only be played by purchasing them at full price. It can, however, cause performance issues, longer load times, and frame rate drops.
There is currently much speculation about whether or not Dead Island 2 will include Denuvo DRM protection. It certainly does. DSO gaming tested it and found that it came with Denuvo.
The game will be available exclusively through the Epic Games Store, where Denuvo is standard. Since Dead Island 2 is such a highly anticipated game, similar treatment was anticipated.
The game will also include a multiplayer mode, and incorporating Denuvo protection may help protect against cheaters. Unfortunately, the game is not scheduled to be released on Steam, so this will only affect those on Epic Games until it is.
That’s all we know about Denuvo DRM and Dead Island 2 at the moment.
