Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro will be out for four to six weeks after breaking his right hand in Sunday’s 130-117 Game 1 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Latest Update Tyler Herro’s Hand Injury
The Miami Heat have had a wild Sunday night. On the one hand, they just won a huge road upset victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of their 2023 NBA Playoffs first-round series. On the other hand, assuming the Heat advance to the next round, they will do so without Tyler Herro, who suffered a serious hand injury during the win over Milwaukee.
Herro was in immediate pain after injuring himself late in the second quarter while diving for a loose ball. He even tried to run off the field, but was forced to stay out for the final minute of the first half.

He was off to a great start in Game 1, pouring in 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field in 19 minutes.
NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Tyler Herro will be out for at least a month:
“Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro broke the middle and ring finger on his shooting hand and is expected to be out approximately 4-6 weeks, league sources tell @NBAonTNT,@BleacherReport.”
Losing Herro for the foreseeable future is a setback to the Heat’s hopes of going deep in the playoffs and bringing the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy to South Beach.
With 109.5 points per game, Miami was dead last in the league, and the reigning Sixth Man of the Year was a huge offensive contributor. Herro finished third on the team in scoring with 20.1 points per game.
With Herro out for an extended period of time, the Heat will rely on Max Strus, Caleb Martin, and Gabe Vincent to carry heavier offensive loads.
