The next day, she posted another photo of herself in the same pose, this time wearing an expensive silk kaftan and dramatic sunglasses to announce that she was on vacation in Italy.
She captioned a photo from her trip to Italy with an expression of pure joy, explaining that she was soon to return to England to work on a project alongside her mother’s namesake, actress Joan Collins, and comedian Joe Lycett.
She wrote: ‘Sicily. You have been MAGICAL until next time …. Flying back to film with @joancollinsdbe @joelycett.’
Before leaving on her dream vacation, Gemma said the current cast of The Only Way Is Essex was “awful” and that she would never work on the show again.
The 42-year-old reality personality, who first gained prominence in 2011, left the ITV2 series in 2019, and now claims that there are no longer any “stars” on the show.
Gemma told to The Mirror: ‘I watched it the other night and I’ll never get those minutes of my life back. What’s happened?
‘There were about two scenes in it. Chloe Brockett was good, and the new girl Elma [Pazar] but the rest of them were terrible.’
She added: ‘There’s no stars there, darling – we were stars.’
She also stated unequivocally that she would never return to the series that made her famous, saying: ‘Being in those toxic arguing environments… it’s a load of c**p.’
