Out for the season

After a 123-119 loss on the road against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, the Sacramento Kings (48-32, 45-35 ATS) are reeling.

The Kings have now lost three straight games and four of their last six overall.

Their most recent home losses were to the San Antonio Spurs (142-134 in overtime) and the Minnesota Timberwolves (119-115).

Domantas Sabonis scored 19 points, grabbed 11 boards, and dished out 11 assists to complement De’Aaron Fox’s game-high 28 points and eight dimes for the winning side.

According to John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game San Francisco, Sabonis (ankle) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Warriors.

Sabonis has only missed two games this year, but he is currently on the injury list due to pain in his left ankle.

The Kings have clinched a playoff berth and could choose to rest their starters as the postseason approaches.

If Sabonis can’t go Friday, the minutes for Alex Len and Chimezie Metu will increase.

The Kings now hold the third spot in the Western Conference, 3.5 games ahead of the Phoenix Suns.

But, they will need the Memphis Grizzlies to lose their next two games for any chance of finishing second. The Kings would need to beat Golden State and Denver in their last two games.

The Kings allow 116.8 points per 100 possessions despite having the best offensive rating in the NBA (119.9). (25th in the league).
