It’s difficult to tell whether the first leaked GTA 6 screenshot is from the upcoming game or just someone looking for upvotes.
GTA 6 ‘first’ screenshot
One supposed insider now claims to have a new GTA 6 screenshot pulled from the game ahead of its release – whenever that may be. Despite the fact that it is a screenshot from last year’s leaks, it is making the rounds online. If it’s genuine, it’ll be our first proper look at the AAAA (four As) title.
On Reddit, u/thetensedoctor showed off the screenshot. There’s a female main character and a group of men to the left, as well as a nighttime setting and some dynamic lighting. It’s likely that these aren’t the final character models, but just placeholders. Still, they are impressive.
Wherever/whenever this alleged screenshot came from, it’s a vast improvement over the majority of what we saw in last year’s leak.
How players react to this screeshot ?
Even the harshest GTA critics have to admit that this looks pretty good, and keep in mind that this is almost certainly not the finished product. As you might expect, many people think it looks a little too good to be true. Is this just another ruse to make us look stupid?
One player was so blown away, they wrote, “That could have fooled me as a real photo if I didn’t zoom in. Suggesting it’s from a pre-alpha build, another gushed, “Looks already better than Watchdogs 2 final build.”
“That could have fooled me as a real photo if I didn’t zoom in,” one player wrote. Another user commented, “Looks already better than Watchdogs 2 final build,” implying it’s from a pre-alpha build.
A third added, “This is the best nighttime I’ve seen thus far except rdr2, this game looks unbelievable even during the testing phase and better than 90% of the games out rn, R* has outdone themselves yet again.”

It wasn’t long ago that we learned GTA 6 was in a “turbulent state” and might be restarted. From what we can see above, it doesn’t appear to be the case, but we’re still waiting for an official GTA 6 release date.
If Rockstar keeps polishing the game, we might be unable to tell whether we’re in a video game or shooting up a bank in real life. In any case, GTA 6 appears to be on track to become the most successful video game of all time.
