The latest injury update Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns

THE BUCKS

It’s the second time this season that the two teams have competed against one another. The Bucks prevailed by a score of 104-101 on February 26.

The Milwaukee Bucks visits the Phoenix Suns after Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 46 points in the Bucks’ 133-124 win over the Sacramento Kings.

Antetokounmpo had a trouble-free pregame shootaround and is now good to go after missing the last three games with a right-hand injury. Given the forward’s brief absence, he should be healthy enough to play a major role in the next contest.

In road games, the Bucks have a 21-13 record. The Bucks’ 36.7% 3-point shooting rate places them fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Joe Ingles missed the first game of a back-to-back set on Monday to rest his knee. Ingles has played in 12 consecutive games, averaging 8.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 24.4 minutes. It’s currently unknown if he will be able to play in Phoenix for the second half today.

While Wesley Matthews is expected to return from a nine-game absence due to a calf strain, Pat Connaughton and Jae Crowder are candidates for increased playing time against the Suns.

THE SUNS

The Suns have a 22-11 record at home. With Deandre Ayton leading the way with 2.7 offensive boards per game, the Suns are fourth in the Western Conference.

In a 123-112 loss to Golden State on Monday, Devin Booker scored 32 points (12-20 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-10 FT), added 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals in 35 minutes of action.

Booker tried his best to keep Phoenix in it early despite the Warriors’ huge first quarter, and the star guard ended the game with his fifth 30-point performance in his last six contests.

In that time, he has put up impressive numbers, averaging 35.3 points on 59.9 percent shooting from the field, 6.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 three-pointers per game. The only downer about his performance Monday was the lack of three-pointers he made; it had been since before the All-Star break that he hadn’t made at least one triple.

Next up for the Suns is a matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks, and Booker will have to keep carrying the load.

According to a press release from the Suns, Kevin Durant’s (ankle) status will be reassessed in three weeks.

Before now, it was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that Durant would be reevaluated in two weeks. In any case, the Suns have issued an official update saying that the superstar forward will be out for at least three weeks.

If Durant is immediately cleared after his reevaluation on March 30, he could play in the Suns’ final six games.
