The Charlotte Hornets will try to beat the Detroit Pistons for the second time in two weeks when the Eastern Conference foes square off on Thursday night.
The latest injury update Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons
The Hornets lost three straight games but they bounced back with a 112-105 win over New York on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Detroit is riding a nine-game losing streak and is getting set for the third game of a five-game homestand.
The Detroit Pistons almost made up for the loss of several starters and key reserves on Tuesday. They ended up losing again, making it nine games in a row.
Their home game against the Charlotte Hornets this Thursday will be an opportunity to halt a recent skid.
Detroit’s injured list included leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic (Achilles), Alec Burks (foot), Jalen Duren (ankle), Killian Hayes (hand), Hamidou Diallo (ankle) and Isaiah Stewart (hip). Franchise player Cade Cunningham suffered a season-ending shin injury in November.
- Bojan Bogdanovic – Out vs. Hornets
Bogdanovic (Achilles) won’t play in Thursday’s game versus the Pistons.
On Thursday, Bogdanovic will miss his fourth consecutive game due to bilateral Achilles tendinopathy.
The game against Indiana this coming Saturday is Bogdanovic’s next opportunity to play, though he may have to sit out the rest of the season if he doesn’t improve.
The fantasy playoffs could be a boon for players like Isaiah Livers, Rodney McGruder, and R.J. Hampton if he ends up missing the rest of the season with an injury.
Following Monday’s loss to Portland, Diallo suffered an ankle sprain and will not play again this season.
Detroit’s last victory was on February 10 against San Antonio, and it required double overtime to achieve. The Pistons have gone 2-12 since the beginning of February, with their lone win coming against the Hornets.
It’s a 2-1 season series, with Detroit on top overall.
