With a 16-game winning streak snapped over the weekend, the Milwaukee Bucks are looking to get back on track when they host the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
The Bucks won Tuesday night’s road game against the Magic, 134-123. Milwaukee’s 14-game winning streak against Orlando is the NBA’s longest active streak against a single opponent.
For the Bucks, who were missing Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez paced the team with 26 points, while Jevon Carter and Khris Middleton added 24 points apiece. Middleton led the team in assists with 11 in his first starting role since December 15.
Wesley Matthews (hamstring) and recently acquired guard Goran Dragic (knee) are out for Thursday’s game, while Giannis Antetokounmpo (illness) and Jrue Holiday (neck) are listed as probable for Milwaukee.
As it stands, Antetokounmpo is expected to return to action on Thursday after missing Tuesday’s victory over the Magic due to right knee soreness and a non-COVID illness.
With an average of 30.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks in 31.8 minutes per game, Antetokounmpo has been a force in the NBA over his last four games.
Brooklyn, meanwhile, looking to pull off an upset after playing three of their last four games and six of their last ten away from home, continues its road trip.
On Tuesday, the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Houston Rockets 118-96 for their third straight victory.
Ben Simmons‘s knee injury has kept him sidelined. Despite his well-known status, Simmons has had a difficult time getting going this season on either end of the court. His absence won’t likely change the outcome of the game despite his importance at times.
